born in 1975, Pinkhas defines himself as an inheritor of the Jewish School of Paris, of an impressionistic and naïve style.
His rather unconventional path encompasses a medical degree and background in dramatic arts (Cours Florent, Académie Oscar Sisto).
In addition to his more academic figurative work, Pinkhas developed a series of conceptual pieces using gold bullion as a recurring theme.
Interesting fact, the artist was committed to staging only real gold bullion.
The work was done from two distinct perspectives:
The Gold Up series, featuring gold bullion in a safety vault, the target of a robbery, and the Hidden Gold series, in which he played around staging the bullion in much more unexpected situations.
The most representative version is without a doubt the « Combien tu Pez? » series, where the famous candy dispenser delivers genuine gold bullion as a provocative tribute to our unbridled consumer society.
Exhibitions:
Paris, London, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Monaco, Brussels, Florence and Safed.
Private collections:
France, Israel, USA, England, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Denmark, Lebanon, Canada and the Netherlands
Listed on ArtPrice with over 100 auctions in France, Israel, Belgium, Italy and Switzerland, as well as two consecutive auction records of 7000€.READ MORE
